The Greene County parents whose 3-year-old daughter tested positive for cocaine waived their rights to preliminary hearings Tuesday and will stand trial.

Arielle Laenee Jolly, 27, and Joseph Andrew Brownlee, 29, both of Nemacolin, are facing child endangerment and reckless endangerment charges. Both charges were held for court by District Judge Lee Watson, though the child endangerment charges were downgraded from felonies to misdemeanors.

Several family members attended in support of Jolly and Brownlee and expressed frustration at Children and Youth Services for not placing the couple’s children with family members.

Jolly and Brownlee brought their daughter to WHS-Greene March 29 because she was acting strangely. She had a blank look on her face, and she was drooling and sweaty, court documents indicate. She was then transferred to UPMC-Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for treatment.

The child tested positive for cocaine. Both Jolly and Brownlee tested positive for cocaine following a Children and Youth Services drug test.

Both remain free on $15,000 percentage bonds.
