Chartiers police charge four people in burglary
Four people were arraigned Thursday on charges filed by Chartiers Township police in connection with a burglary earlier this month at a trailer in Washington Estates mobile home park.
Rebecca Lynn Ellifritz, 29, of 3875 Buffalo Creek Road, Claysville, is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Cara Renee Davidson, 31, and Melvin E. Hane II, 32, both of South Strabane Township, and Tammy Lee Cottrell, 44, of 424 E. Wheeling St., Washington, are charged with three counts each of conspiracy.
Detective Sgt. Michael Filosi said Ellifritz entered the home on Regent Street on April 2 while the others waited in Cottrell’s vehicle across the street.
Ellifritz allegedly stole items valued at $5,188, including a PlayStation, controllers, jewelry, shoes, a Michael Kors purse and perfume.
She put the items in Cottrell’s vehicle, and they left the area, according to police.
Ellifritz also was arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $200 and a pair of Air Jordan sneakers last July from a home on Regent Street where she was house-sitting. She is free on $50,000 unsecured bond.
Davidson, Hane and Cottrell were arraigned before Mark and released on $25,000 unsecured bonds. They and Ellifritz are scheduled for a May 8 preliminary hearing before Mark.
