After 21 years with the Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Debra Keefer will be passing the baton.

Leanna Spada will soon be clutching it.

Keefer is retiring as executive director following two-plus decades of service. Spada will succeed her, effective May 7, the chamber’s board of directors announced this week.

Spada, a mother of two from Charleroi, has been working at the chamber in an administrative support role since February, said chamber president Armand Ferrara.

“We have been totally impressed with her people skills and understanding of our program of work,” Ferrara said.

A magna cum laude graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, Spada has worked in the private sector in insurance and human resources. She also owned and operated a business, Country Cottage, in Charleroi.
