CANONSBURG

Portable toilet overturned: Canonsburg police said a portable toilet owned by RMC Sanitation of Burgettstown was pushed over Wednesday near the Canonsburg Town Park basketball courts.

CANTON

Warrant issued: State police have issued an arrest warrant for Hank W. McCartney, 41, of Washington, for criminal contempt after he allegedly violated a protection-from-abuse order when he went to a home at 2717 Jefferson Ave. at 8 a.m. Wednesday. State police said McCartney fled when officers arrived. 

EAST BETHLEHEM

Woman jailed: Leann Sachek, 50, of 171 Crawford Road, East Bethlehem Township, is charged by state police with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police arrested her Wednesday after a state parole officer performed a compliance check on her at her residence and allegedly discovered four stamp bags of heroin in her purse, 11 empty stamp bags and a scale. Sachek was placed in Washington County Jail on a parole violation and $25,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

NORTH STRABANE

Assault arrest: Keith E. Uhrin, 34, of 119 Cancilla Drive, Canonsburg, was arrested Tuesday by North Strabane police after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend during a confrontation at her Cricketwood Court home. Police said he allegedly punched her and punched the windshield of her vehicle, causing it to crack. Uhrin was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. He was released with orders not to contact the alleged victim.

SMITH

Vehicle rolls over: Josh Kennedy of Bulger was injured when his vehicle went off Grant Street in Bulger about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and rolled over three or four times, Smith police said. Kennedy was taken to UPMC-Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Two injured: Carol Long of Slovan and Evelyn Walls of Cherry Valley were injured when their vehicles collided about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday on Route 18 near the Burgettstown football stadium. Smith police said Long apparently suffered a medical problem, and her southbound vehicle crossed the center line, hitting Walls’ vehicle. Long was taken to the Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center. Walls was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

SOUTH STRABANE

Three hurt: Three men suffered minor injuries when the vehicle they were riding in struck the rear of a vehicle that was stopped on Interstate 70 west near the north junction of Interstate 79 about 3 p.m. Monday, state police said. The driver, Avery Smith, 26, of Baltimore, Md., and passengers Michael McCray, 25, of Glen Burnie, Md., and Bernard Tarter, 26, of Randallstown, Md., were taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. The driver of the stopped vehicle, Edward Shanor, 49, of Uniontown, was not injured. 

Road rage assault: A 29-year-old Monongahela man was assaulted about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot at the Old Mill during a road rage incident. The man told police that he was slapped in the face, shoved and punched before his attacker grabbed him around the neck and threw him to the ground. He described his attacker as a heavyset black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall who was driving a blue Honda Accord. Police said charges are pending against the alleged attacker. The 29-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in the attack.

Thefts reported: South Strabane police are investigating two thefts Wednesday at Sam’s Club, Trinity Point. Bose mini-speakers and steaks were stolen from the store both times.

Wallet stolen: Staci Agnesi of Wexford told South Strabane police Monday that her wallet was stolen from a store at Tanger Outlets.

Two charged: James Gaito, 31, and Alisha M. McKnight, 29, both of 221 S. College St., were charged this week by South Strabane police stemming from a July 24 theft at Target, Strabane Square. Gaito is charged with retail theft and false identification to police after he allegedly stole 11 items from the store. McKnight is charged with theft by deception for allegedly trying to return the stolen items. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Endangerment charge: Kristi Danielle Kelley, 38, of 43 Main St., Daisytown, was charged this week by South Strabane police with reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly left syringes, empty stamp bags and other paraphernalia in her purse in a restroom at Walmart, Trinity Point, on July 24. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Fraud, drug charges: Brittany L. Cox, 23, of 100 McCarrell Ave., Washington, was charged this week by South Strabane police with access device fraud, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Police were called July 24 to Motel 6, 1283 Motel 6 Drive, for removal of a customer. Cox allegedly took her stepfather’s credit card without his permission. Police said she also was in possession of suspected drugs and paraphernalia. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

WASHINGTON

Harassment alleged: Washington police said they will charge Yvonne Williamson, 38, of 40 Ash St., Ellsworth, with harassment after she allegedly struck Donnie Knupp of 530 W. Chestnut St. during a confrontation Wednesday outside his home.

Gun stolen: Dennis Mosier of Glenn Avenue told Washington police Wednesday that a .45-caliber Springfield handgun was stolen from his home.
