Canon-McMillan postpones school start date
Canon-McMillan students will get a late start to their school year, due to ongoing renovations at the high school.
In a letter posted to the district’s Facebook page Tuesday and sent to parents, the district won’t begin the 2018-19 school year until Sept. 4.
“Following discussion, which occurred during a building and grounds committee meeting today, we have been advised that the current construction/expansion project at the Canon-McMillan Senior High School is delayed by at least one week, possibly two,” the letter states.
The letter, signed by Superintendent Michael Daniels, said the delay applies to all grade levels, and that additional notifications will be sent out if further delays are warranted.
“We apologize for this inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and cooperation in this matter,” the letter states.
