Union Township road closed indefinitely due to flooding
The state Department of Transportation has closed a section of Courtney Hill Road in Union Township infinitely due to flooding concerns.
The road will be closed between the Mon-Fayette Expressway and Minjock Lane until the flooding can be addressed and resolved, PennDOT spokeswoman Valerie Petersen said.
Heavy rain storms this summer complicated by abandoned mine runoff have turned the section of the road into a large pond.
