AMWELL
Two-vehicle crash: State police said a vehicle driven by Michael Komondor, 27, of Charleroi, crossed into the oncoming lane in the 400 block of Amity Ridge Road and struck a vehicle driven by Brett Davis, 30, of Carmichaels, shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, state police said. Komondor then left the scene, police said, and will be cited. Davis was not injured.
BENTLEYVILLE
Harassment: Isaiah E. Calloway, 27, of Washington, faces a harassment charge after he allegedly threw a cellphone at a woman at a home at 406 Pittsburgh Road, hitting her in the head, state police said.
CANONSBURG
Woman scammed: A resident of Orchard Avenue told Canonsburg police Monday that she was sent a check for $3,500, told to cash it, get gift cards and send the PIN numbers to the company that sent the check. Thinking it was for equipment for her new job, she complied, only to find out it was a scam.
CHARTIERS
Money stolen: The owner of Three Rivers Doors, 597 Chartiers Run Road, told Chartiers police Monday that $1,760 was stolen from the business.
Cash stolen: David Roberts told Chartiers police Monday that $300 was stolen from his wallet while he was in his room at Premier Health Care, 36 Old Hickory Ridge Road.
NORTH STRABANE
Traffic restricted: Traffic was restricted on Route 19 southbound at DeMar Boulevard about 8:40 p.m. Monday when a vehicle driven by Bruno Tambellini, 83, of Bethel Park, caught fire. The vehicle was engulfed in flames when police arrived. Traffic had to be rerouted until the fire was extinguished. The state Department of Transportation had to put down anti-skid material in the area of the fire because the road was slippery and was a hazard.
Drug charges: Danielle B. Rogers, 30, of Shinnston, W.Va., was charged last week by North Strabane police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from a July 14 traffic stop at the intersection of Routes 519 and 980. The charges against Rogers, who also was cited for a stop sign violation, were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
NOTTINGHAM
DUI, endangerment charges: Dylan Thomas Fitzgerald, 20, of 108 Sugar Run Road, Venetia, was arrested Monday night by a Washington County sheriff’s deputy on charges of reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and corruption of minors after he allegedly was found in a vehicle at Mingo Creek Park, Nottingham, with two teenage girls. Police said he failed a field-sobriety test and underwent testing by a drug-recognition expert. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where blood was drawn. Fitzgerald was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and released on $1,500 unsecured bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Two arrested: Alyssa A. Rader, 33, and Chad A. Ullom, 41, both homeless, were arrested Monday morning by South Strabane police after a theft at Lowe’s, Strabane Square. Rader, who reportedly gave police a false name, allegedly stole items from the store on Monday and last week. Both allegedly had suspected heroin and paraphernalia. Rader was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of retail theft, possession of heroin and paraphernalia and false identification to police. She was placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond. Ullom was arraigned before Weller on charges of possession of heroin and paraphernalia. He was placed in jail on $5,000 bond.
Theft charges: Shane Trylko, 30, of 3230 Millers Run Road, Cecil, was charged last week by South Strabane police with retail theft and theft by deception after he allegedly switched tags on a pair of shoes at Target, Strabane Square, on July 30. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
UNION
Liquor law violation alleged: The operator of Peters Creek Pub, 2103 Rankintown Road, was cited last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly selling liquor to a 19-year-old on June 13.
WASHINGTON
Drug charges: William John King, 49, of 177 E. Wylie Ave., Washington, was charged by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct following a traffic stop July 31 in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue in Washington. Police said they found a needle and small bags with suspected heroin residue on them.
Indecent exposure charge: Laron Jackson, 42, of 174 Jollick Manor, Washington, was charged by Washington police with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct after he allegedly urinated in the Wine & Spirits Store, 980 Jefferson Ave., on July 27. Police said Jackson was in the store about 2:30 p.m. when he allegedly urinated on the floor near the register.
Terroristic threat charge: Michelle E. Swaney, 36, of 490 Glenn St., Washington, was charged by Washington Hospital police with terroristic threats, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after she allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the hospital last month. Police said that when Swaney was given her discharge papers July 18, she threw them at the emergency room staff and threatened to punch them in the face, saying “I will kill you,” the criminal complaint said. Police said she continued the verbal threats to staff, patients and visitors in the lobby and outside the facility, after being escorted out by police. She then allegedly said, “If I leave, I have my permit to carry, and I will go home and get my AR-15 and come back and shoot this place up,” the complaint said.
