CUMBERLAND

Running from police alleged: Michael Braun, 35, of 108 N. Market St., Carmichaels, was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and four summary driving violations from an incident Tuesday. Braun allegedly ran from Cumberland Township police as they were investigating a vehicle theft in the 500 block of Route 88, just outside Carmichaels. Officers used a Taser on Braun to stop him as he ran away, and said they found bottles of alcohol believed to have been stolen from a nearby store in his car and pockets.

FRANKLIN

Unauthorized use charge: Caleb R. Snyder, 29, of Covington, Tioga County, was charged Wednesday with unauthorized use of a vehicle and criminal mischief after state police said he took a work truck without permission after he quit his job July 25 and then drove over grass at the Super 8 Motel at 100 Stanley Drive in Franklin Township. Police said he returned the truck six hours later.

JEFFERSON

DUI on ATV charge: Terry Lee Hoyle II, 44, of 659 Ridge Road, Waynesburg, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence of alcohol and several vehicle code violations after state police said he crashed his all-terrain vehicle into an oncoming vehicle Aug. 9, 2016, while driving on Ridge Road in Jefferson Township. Police said witnesses saw Hoyle drinking beer and driving recklessly on his ATV before the crash.
