Table games revenue slides at Meadows, across state

Revenue from table games played at the state’s 12 casinos last month dropped 5.18 percent from the previous July, and The Meadows fared much worse.

The gaming venue in North Strabane Township generated $3,201,602 in revenue last month, a 14.92 percent decrease $3,762,922 from July 2017, according to figures released Thursday by Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Only five casinos posted gains from a year earlier, but only one was more than 3.43 percent – Valley Forge Casino Resort at 14.43 percent. Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, was down 22.71 percent – to $376,433 from $487,013. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, was up a marginal 0.54 percent, to $5,657,336 from $5,626,840.

Collectively, the 12 casinos collected $73,820,267 in revenue, down from $77,855,644.

The control board reported that $11,888,675 in tax revenue was generated by table games play last month, with an average of 1,272 tables operating daily.

July figures for slots play was reported earlier, and total gaming revenue declined 3.32 percent statewide over the year, to $277,464,252 from $286,980.610. That was a drop of $9.5 million.

The Meadows posted an overall 4.94 percent decline to $22,090,033 from $23,238,992. Rivers’ total revenue went up a tad – 0.41 percent – from $29,937,226, while Lady Luck’s dropped 8.57 percent ($3,042,265 from $3,327,527).
