Bentleyville woman dies in East Finley ATV accident

A Bentleyville woman who was operating an all-terrain vehicle died Wednesday afternoon in East Finley Township.

Elizabeth Ann Perchinsky, 35, was driving the ATV eastbound in the 1500 block of Rocky Run Road, Prosperity, about 3:30 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree at a high speed, state police said.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco pronounced Perchinsky dead at 4:45 p.m. at the scene. The cause and manner of her death are pending an autopsy.

Assisting state police were volunteer firefighters from Morris and West Finley townships and Ambulance and Chair Service.

The fatality is one of a handful of accidents involving ATVs that have occurred in Washington County and its surrounding communities in recent days.

On Saturday, a 13-year-old boy from Imperial sustained fatal injuries in an ATV crash in the 200 block of Kelso Road in North Fayette Township, Allegheny County. Also on Saturday, two people were injured in an ATV accident in West Bethlehem Township.

In late July, two ATVs struck each other in Nottingham Township in a wooded area along Little Mingo Road.
