Washington School Board

- The school board approved the supplemental employment of several teachers for Washington School District after-school programs, including the credit recovery program at the Washington Junior/Senior High School, Prexie Power Tutoring Hour, and the After-School Learning Academy at Washington Park Elementary School.
- The board also approved the application of a high school student to attend Trinity Area School District to participate in Trinity’s agricultural and horticultural program for the 2018-19 school year at a cost of approximately $13,000.
- Directors announced the district will honor band director Dave Dayton at the Wash High football game Friday at Wash High Stadium.
Dayton has served as band director for the past 15 years.
“Mr. Dayton has been a tremendous conductor and leader to teach our student musicians, and his recognition is certainly a special addition to our evening,” said Dr. James Konrad, superintendent.
The district also will host its annual Prexie Pride Community Rally Thursday, where fans and supporters can meet Wash High athletes and coaches.
