Woman killed in Donegal Township single-vehicle accident
One woman was killed Saturday evening and another person was taken to an area hospital following a single-vehicle accident in Donegal Township.
The woman, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m., while the passenger in her vehicle was taken to Wheeling Hospital, according to a news release from Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.
The accident occurred at 5:42 p.m. at 225 Old National Pike in Donegal Township, the release said.
Originally driving west on Old National Pike, the woman’s vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane, left the road and struck a tree, the release said.
Donegal Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by Ambulance and Chair Service, Claysville Volunteer Fire Department, West Alexander Volunteer Fire Department and Pennsylvania State Police.
The accident is under investigation by Donegal police.
