NORTH STRABANE

Simple assault: An Altoona man was arrested Saturday on allegations he assaulted his wife in Super 8 Motel in Canonsburg. Kurt Voncolln was arraigned before District Justice Jay Weller on charges of simple assault, harassment and public drunkenness. According to the criminal complaint filed by North Strabane Township police, at about 10 p.m. Friday, Voncolln threw a piece of pizza at Renee Bolling during a verbal dispute, when she entered the bathroom of their hotel room to escape him. When she emerged from the bathroom at 6:30 a.m. Saturday while he was sleeping, Bolling allegedly took one of his credit cards to pay for the room and took the keys to the car in order to drive back to Altoona, the complaint said. When Voncolln awoke, he reportedly shoved her onto the bed and held her down while he retrieved the credit card and keys. He threw a Bible at her as she left the room, according to the report. Police said the room had been ransacked and a front desk attendant told police she heard what sounded like an argument and objects being thrown.Voncolln is scheduled to appear in district court at 10 a.m. Dec. 18.

Terroristic threats: Dean Giacomantonio of 7 Lincoln St., Cokeburg, faces charges of terroristic threats, indecent assault and harassment after he was arrested by North Strabane Township police at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. According to the affidavit, Giacomantonio grabbed the buttocks of two cocktail waitresses without their consent at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.When police asked Giagomantonio what he was doing, he threatened to attack a Meadows security officer. He then threatened staff members at the casino, and after he was arrested threatened to physically harm and to “blow off” the head of a state Trooper. He also was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He is scheduled to appear in district court Dec. 18.

SOMERSET

Assault: Pietro Pedone of Washington was arrested by state police at about 3:45 Sunday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at Somerset Hotel, Somerset Township. According to the criminal complaint, Pedone struck Penney Scott several times on her right arm and bit her hand. Scott sought medical treatment at Canonsburg Hospital, and police said in the affidavit Scott was bruised and swollen. Pedone is scheduled to appear in district court Dec. 26 at 10 a.m.

WASHINGTON

Aggravated assault: Larenzo Gregory of Canonsburg was arrested by Washington police Saturday on allegations he threatened a woman with a kitchen knife and bit the woman’s four-year-old son. According to the criminal complaint, Brandi McMasters was driving away from her apartment when Gregory reached in the back seat and bit her son’s right hand. McMasters said she stopped car, and Gregory got out and threw several things in the alley before going back into the apartment. When McMasers went into the apartment and told him to leave, Gregory allegedly told her he had “something for you before I go.” McMasters’ 14-year-old daughter yelled to her mother Gregory had a knife. McMasters called 911, and locked herself and her children in the car. Police arrested Gregory at the apartment. A kitchen knife was found on a sofa, according to the affidavit. Gregory also was found with 150 stamp bags of heroin, two large crack cocaine rocks, a small amount of marijuana, and cash. Gregory was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and was placed Washington County jail. Gregory is scheduled to appear in court at 10 a.m. Dec. 29.
