Two out-of-state people are facing charges after South Strabane Township police visited their hotel room Monday evening.
Mt. Lebanon police asked Washington County police agencies to be on the lookout for a silver car with an Oklahoma registration belonging to the suspect in a case out of Mt. Lebanon in which several wallets and credit cards were stolen. South Strabane police found the car parked at Motel 6.
The car belonged to Joy Lynn Collyar, 42, of the state of California, and Tony Lee Melton, 40, of Oklahoma, who were staying at the motel. In their room, police said they found several purses, wallets, cellphones and a game system.
Police said Collyar allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase $700 worth of merchandise at Game Stop stores in Bridgeville and Bethel Park. She also attempted to use the cards at Walmart in Bethel Park, but they were declined, police said.
She also allegedly stole a phone from a store in Indiana and a wallet from Once Upon a Child in Cranberry Township. In both of those incidents, according to police, Collyar was seen in the store with a man believed to be Melton.
Collyar was charged with forgery, identity theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy. Melton was charged with criminal conspiracy. They were both arraigned Tuesday morning by District Judge Ethan Ward and jailed on $10,000 bonds.
