Domestic disturbance: Christian Ruby, 43, of 958 Park St., California, was charged by California Borough police with terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment after he allegedly pulled a gun on his wife during an incident at his residence Friday morning. Police said the couple had argued about 6:30 a.m., before he allegedly started pushing his wife, causing an injury to her hand. Police said Ruby then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her, threatening her life and her sister’s life. When police spoke with Ruby, he told them that the altercation never became physical and that he never pointed a gun at his wife. Police said they confiscated the gun as well as two other firearms from Ruby’s residence. Ruby was arraigned by District Judge Joshua Kanalis and jailed on $25,000 bond.

Domestic disturbance: Evan Dietrich Knopp, 27, of 2200 Henderson Ave., Chartiers Township, was charged by Chartiers Township police with simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment following a domestic incident at his residence early Sunday. Police said that Knopp had pushed a woman to the floor and poured alcohol on her head. Police said Knopp also allegedly threw kitchen knives out a window, broke the bedroom door off the hinges and damaged the back door of the residence. Knopp was arraigned by District Judge Ethan Ward and jailed on $10,000 bond.
Father, son charged: Terrance Alexander Peterson, 19, and his father, George E. Peterson II, 48, both of 106 McBurney Road, Chartiers Township, are each charged by township police with simple assault stemming from a disturbance in their home about 11 p.m. Sunday, court records show. The elder Peterson is also charged with resisting arrest and harassment. George Peterson is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Larry Hopkins. The younger Peterson is jailed on $15,000 bond.

Disarming an officer charge: David Thomas Yonek, 52, of 315 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, was charged by Peters Township police with disarming an officer following a domestic disturbance at a residence at 118 Meadowbrook Circle Sunday afternoon. Police said Yonek allegedly struck his father in the face multiple times and struck his father’s wife about 4:15 p.m. When police arrived, Yonek allegedly did not comply with officers and slammed the front door shut. Police said they had to use a Taser to get Yonek to the ground, but twice during the altercation, Yonek grabbed the Taser, trying to take it from police. Yonek was arraigned Sunday night by District Judge Ethan Ward and jailed on $50,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Crash: South Strabane Township police responded Saturday night to a one-vehicle crash in the 300 block of Manifold Road. Police said Troy L. Hollandsworth, 26, of Morgantown, W.Va.,was driving south when his vehicle went off the road, and drove through a yard and wire fence before striking a ditch. Police said Hollandsworth fled the scene, but was later found by police in the 700 block of Manifold Road. Police said Hollandsworth admitted to smoking marijuana and snorting ketamine. Police said they found six baggies of suspected ketamine and a metal spoon on his person. Hollandsworth was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two traffic summary violations.
