Cal U. awards first doctoral degrees
The first-ever doctoral graduates in the history of California University of Pennsylvania were among more than 1,100 graduate and undergraduate students who received degrees at winter commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday at the Convocation Center at Cal U.
The doctoral graduates earned their Doctor of Health Science degrees in Health Science and Exercise Leadership on Friday, as did students earning master’s degrees. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded Saturday. University President Geraldine M. Jones conferred the degrees.
Winter Commencement honors graduates who completed their studies in August and December.
