Mississippi brothers arrested in Hanover Township
Two Mississippi brothers were arrested in Hanover Township early Wednesday morning after allegedly trying to flee police in a vehicle, which they later crashed.
Colton Dean Mann, 21, and his brother, Corey Donovan Mann, 18, both of Hernando, Miss., are facing charges after Hanover Township police tried to pull them over for a traffic violation just before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said Corey Mann was driving their car south on Route 18 when police initiated the stop. Police said he sped up, trying to get away from police, but crashed into parking barriers. Police said they gave him a field-sobriety test and a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol content was 0.136 percent.
While searching the vehicle, police said they found a .22-caliber pistol behind the passenger seat of the vehicle, where Colton Mann had been sitting. Police said he admitted the gun was his and that he didn’t have a concealed-carry permit. Police said they also found bottles of alcohol in the car. Smith Township police assisted in arresting the brothers.
Corey Mann was charged with fleeing an officer, driving under the influence of alcohol and three summary violations. Colton Mann was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
The brothers were arraigned Wednesday morning by District Judge Larry Hopkins. Corey Mann was jailed on $35,000 bond, while Colton Mann was jailed on $25,000 bond.
