BUFFALO
Single-vehicle crash: No one was injured when a vehicle struck a fence and parked cars Wednesday. Cody R. Thomas, 21, of Washington, was driving north on McKee Road just before 10 p.m. Near the 500 block, Thomas lost control and hit a fence along the right side of the road. Thomas then drove across the roadway and hit a parked car along the left side of the road, causing that vehicle to hit another parked car. All three cars caused damage to an adjacent fence, according to the state police crash report.

Tractor-trailer fire: Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed while several fire departments worked to extinguish the flames of a tractor-trailer fire near mile marker 15 Friday at 1 a.m.

Theft from vehicle: An engagement ring and $200 was stolen from the center console of a vehicle parked on Mong Road between Dec. 14 and 15, state police report.
SOMERSET
Rear-end crash: Angela M. Shultz, 34, of Scottdale, was headed west on Interstate 70 in the left lane Thursday just after 7 a.m. with David J. Grecco, 42, of Bridgeville, following just behind. While negotiating a curve near mile marker 30, Grecco became distracted, according to state police, and hit the rear of Shultz’s vehicle. Grecco was cited for careless driving.

Bail scam: State police are investigating a scam in which the victim mailed $9,500. Someone impersonating a New York police officer called the West Alexander victim and demanded a mailed bail payment Oct. 30.
