Bentleyville man arrested on 84 warrants
BENTLEYVILLE – A Bentleyville man who reportedly was preparing to relocate to Florida while facing 84 arrest warrants was apprehended Wednesday by borough police.
Bentleyville police Chief Richard D. Young said the wanted man, Glenn Randall Myers, was taken into custody about 5:15 p.m. after Young noticed him walking in the 200 block of Main Street, toward Ellsworth.
Young said he was aware that Myers, 49, of 907 Main St., was the subject of warrants. He searched the man’s history and discovered pages full of them.
Most of the warrants stemmed from traffic and non-traffic citations in Washington, Greene and Westmoreland counties, he said.
Young said Myers told him he had purchased a boat and a house in St. Petersburg, Fla., and planned to move there in two weeks.
“He came back here to say goodbye to his friends,” Young said.
Myers was taken to Westmoreland County Jail Wednesday after Judge Rita Hathaway revoked his bond in a case from South Greensburg, where police charged him in 2016 with driving under the influence of alcohol and making or selling offensive weapons, online court records show. Myers is awaiting trial in that case.
Young also filed charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia against Myers. The chief said Myers had a pipe containing the drug when he was arrested Wednesday.
