Interstate 70 reopens after accident

Interstate 70 westbound between the Chestnut Street exit and Taylorstown has reopened. The section of highway was closed just before 9 a.m. following a tractor-trailer accident.
The state Department of Transportation temporarily reduced the speed limits to 45 mph on Interstates 70 and 79 this morning because of the snowy and icy weather.
Drivers are being urged to avoid unnecessary travel. PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.

West Penn Power has responded after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Washington Way in Donora.
No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 136 and Brownlee Road in Somerset Township.
A vehicle also rolled over in the 500 block of National Pike in West Pike Run Township.
All Washington County school districts along with most private schools are closed today, as is Penn Commercial. California University of Pennsylvania has a 10 a.m. start time both at the main campus and Southpointe.
PennDOT has also closed driver’s license centers for the day in areas including Washington County.
