CALIFORNIA

Disorderly house: Cody James Levine, 23, of Scenery Hill, will be cited by California police with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance after other residents and the property manager complained about activity at his apartment at 131 Wood St. on Wednesday.

HANOVER

Charged in crash: Cody Ryan Tucker, 38, of Kingsburg, Texas, was arrested Wednesday night by Hanover police on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a one-vehicle crash in the 100 block of Aunt Clara Road. He reportedly admitted to police that he had smoked marijuana a few hours before the crash. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County Jail on $1,000 bond.

NORTH BETHLEHEM

Vehicle rolls: Herbert Karr, 58, of Washington, escaped injury when his vehicle hit an embankment and rolled over as he drove south on Brush Run Road, North Bethlehem, Wednesday morning, state police said.

PETERS

Two arrested: Paul Nichola Gyurina, 23, of Homestead, and Vincent Rudolph Lanza, 26, of Duquesne, were arrested Wednesday afternoon by Peters police in connection with a theft at Giant Eagle, 4007 Washington Road. They are each charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal solicitation for allegedly stealing batteries valued at $350. Gyurina is also charged with possession of paraphernalia after he was found with empty stamp bags of suspected heroin. They were each arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County Jail on a $10,000 percentage bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Scam reported: A loss prevention officer at Sam’s Club, Trinity Point, prevented an elderly woman from buying $4,000 in gift cards Wednesday, South Strabane police said. The woman told the officer she needed the cards to get her granddaughter out of jail. Police were able to contact the granddaughter and determine she was fine.

Vehicle rolls: Charles Sekura, 42, of 274 Latimer Ave., Strabane, escaped injury Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle went off the road near the intersection of Manifold and Fisher roads and overturned, South Strabane police said.

WASHINGTON

Cards stolen: Vikas Varraquinta, 920 E. Maiden St., told Washington police Wednesday that his wallet containing his identification, two credit cards and a debit card were stolen from his vehicle. The cards were used to make almost $136 in purchases.
