Washington man suspected in W.Va. murder kills himself, police say
A Washington man suspected in a homicide Thursday near Wheeling, W.Va., shot himself to death in a vehicle found Friday morning along Weaver Run Road in Amwell Township, police said.
Brian Calabrese, 32, formerly of West Virginia, was a suspect in a murder in the Points Mills Road area of Triadelphia, according to the Ohio County, W.Va., sheriff’s office.
Calabrese’s body was found in a vehicle parked in the 10 block of Weaver Run about 8:30 a.m., said Washington County Coroner Tim Warco. It is believed he shot himself sometime after 8 p.m. Thursday. Warco ruled the manner of death as suicide.
Prior to the discovery of his body, Calabrese had last been known to be in the area of the north and south junctions of Interstates 70 and 79 in South Strabane Township.
Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard said that was the area where his cellphone was last pinged.
A bulletin advising local authorities and Pennsylvania State Police to be on the lookout for Calabrese was issued just before midnight Thursday.
