Man killed last week by East Washington man identified by W.Va. sheriff
The Ohio County, W.Va., sheriff has identified the man shot and killed last week by an East Washington man who later committed suicide in Amwell Township.
Kenneth Bernier, 63, was killed Feb. 8 at a home on Points Mill Road, Triadelphia, when he was shot multiple times by 32-year-old Brian Calabrese, according to Sheriff Thomas Howard.
An arrest warrant for first-degree murder was obtained for Calabrese. He was found dead about 8:30 a.m. the morning after the shooting in his vehicle along Weaver Run Road in Amwell of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Calabrese was known to Bernier, according to a release issued by Howard, and the incident was not considered a random act of violence. He added that there is no evidence of any other suspects. The investigation is in its final stages.
