CANONSBURG

Probation arrest: Andrew Duncan, 22, of 1321 Lucia Drive, Canonsburg, will be charged with corruption of minors and disorderly conduct for allegedly having marijuana in his vehicle while accompanied by a 13-year-old boy Wednesday. He was placed in Washington County jail on a probation violation.

HANOVER

Weapons charge: Jessie Frye, 37, of Colliers, W.Va., was arrested Wednesday night by Hanover police on charges of carrying a firearm without a license and a traffic violation after a traffic stop at Maxwell Road and Route 18. Police said she had a .22-caliber handgun in her vehicle but had no permit to carry it. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released from Washington County jail after posting $1,000 bond.

MONONGAHELA

Two charged: Brian J. Porter, 30, of 1006 Chess St., Monongahela, and Ashley K. Anthony, 28, of 621 Lincoln St., Monongahela, were arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges filed against them by Monongahela police after a Feb. 6 traffic stop on Chess Street. Porter is charged with tampering with evidence and possession of paraphernalia. He was released from Washington County jail after posting $1,000 bond. Anthony is charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of paraphernalia. She was released on $1,500 unsecured bond.

SOUTH STRABANE

Scam stopped: A loss-prevention officer at Target, Strabane Square, prevented an 89-year-old Jefferson man from getting scammed out of $4,000 Wednesday, South Strabane police said. The alleged victim said he was told over the phone $4,000 had been mistakenly put in his bank account and he needed to repay that amount in Target cards.

WASHINGTON

Assault arrest: Darnell Steven Brown, 38, of 865 Fayette St., Washington, was arrested early Thursday by Washington police after he allegedly assaulted a woman in their apartment. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on a charge of simple assault and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
