The U.S. Postal Service will allow Rostraver Township to share a zip code with Belle Vernon in a move designed to give the township an improved identity.

Residents of the township are urged to begin the process of changing their addresses to Rostraver Twp., Pa., or Rostraver Township, Pa., to improve location services for emergency services and postal workers, the township announced Friday. The issue involves only addresses using the 15012 zip code.

The township also will mail information about the change to property owners with their local property tax bills.
