A Franklin Township man, who state police said was extremely intoxicated, was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly shoved a state police trooper who was attempting to question him Thursday night.

Frank Blackmon
Frank Ray Blackmon, 53, of 312 Sugar Run Road, was arraigned Friday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was jailed on a $10,000 percentage bond.
Police said when troopers were called to a disturbance at Blackmon’s home at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, they found a woman lying in the snow dressed only in a pair of black sweatpants that were pulled down to her knees and one black sock.
Police said they entered the home and found Blackmon lying on the couch asleep. They woke him and found him to be extremely intoxicated, according to court documents. Police said they handcuffed Blackmon with his hands in front of him and led him to a chair.
Police said Blackmon became combative and refused commands. He also allegedly pushed one of the troopers and attempted to grab the trooper’s face. Blackmon was tackled to the floor and then handcuffed with his hands behind his back, police said.
Investigators did not identify the woman or say if she was injured.
Blackmon’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 17 before District Judge Glenn Bates.
