Washington County commissioners

  • The board adopted a resolution in support of a $50,000 grant from the Washington County Hospital Authority to Mon-Vale Health Resources Inc. to assist in the cost of a simulation center to provide healthcare training. According to the authority bylaws, grants from the hospital authority can be made only if the commissioners deem it “desirable for the health and safety of the people in the area served by the project,” which was reflected in the resolution

At the request of the Children and Youth Services agency, the commissioners approved a $100,000 agreement with Blueprints, formerly Washington-Greene Community Action Southwest, to provide the Parents As Teachers program, an early childhood education service, through June 30. No county funds are required.

By court order in a tax assessment case dating to 2008, the commissioners refunded $4,014 to Gary R. and Carla A. Stadelman of South Strabane Township. Included in an additional $16,823 in tax exonorations were $7,924 to Bentleyville Garden Inn Inc. and $5,320 to Adios Associates Cambria Suites, Racetrack Road, North Strabane Township.

  • In a change from their usual schedule, the commissioners will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in the public meeting room of the Courthouse Square office building.
