Gun, drugs, fleeing charges: Josie Ann Heppenstall, 23, of 205 Ridge Road, Jefferson, was charged Sunday with prohibited possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and three summary driving violations. Heppenstall allegedly refused to stop for Waynesburg police during a traffic stop at Richhill and West Greene streets at 8:23 p.m. Dec. 22. Police said they pursued Heppenstall to the end of Tollgate Run in Franklin Township, where she crashed in a yard. Police said they found a pistol and black tactical vest inside the car, and cash and a jar with suspected marijuana inside Heppenstall’s purse. She was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

FRANKLIN

One hurt in crash: One woman was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital after a crash Friday. Heather L. Dodds, 52, of Aleppo, was driving north on Garards Fort Road north of Loves Hill Road. Her car went off the left side of the road, hit an embankment and began to spin. The vehicle overturned and continued to spin, stuck the embankment and stopped partially in the road, right side up, according to state police.
