Flood, winter storm watches issued for Washington, Greene counties
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flood watch and a winter storm watch for areas in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, including Washington and Greene counties.
The flood watch is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon. The NWS said periods of rain are expected through midday Friday that will change to a wintry mix. Rainfall amounts of up to two inches are expected, and snow melt as a result of warm weather may result in flooding, according to NWS.
The winter storm watch also is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday afternoon for the area. Total snow accumulation of six or more inches is possible, according to the NWS.
