An Ohio man was arraigned Tuesday night on a warrant obtained by Cecil Township police after he allegedly called in a bomb threat on a building owned by his former employer in Southpointe.

Joseph D. Childers, 54, of Dayton, is charged with threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction, terroristic threats and harassment.

Cecil policed were asked to contact the Montgomery County, Ohio, 911 dispatch center Nov. 8 about a possible bomb threat they had received. The dispatch center identified the caller as Childers. He reportedly told the dispatcher of a bomb threat and mentioned Cecil Township, then hung up.

Police called back the number. Childers reportedly asked the officer if he was from Pennsylvania and if he was with Centimark. Childers reportedly told police he worked for the company and that he wanted to make it pay for what itdid to him. He also allegedly told the officer he could blow the company up and had contacts in the ISIS terrorist organization.

Childers told the officer he was going to take out one of the Centimark buildings, continuing to rant about how he had been mistreated by the company, then suddenly ended the call.

Police talked with the roofing company’s vice president of litigation and learned Childers called several times, talking nonsensically but making no threats.

Childers was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. He is scheduled for a Jan. 18 preliminary hearing before District Judge Traci McDonald.
