BFS Marathon station in Mt. Morris robbed

A man wearing a white bandana around his face and armed with a knife robbed the BFS Marathon station in Mt. Morris Sunday night.

State police said the man entered the station at 139 Locust Ave. at 10:38 p.m. and demanded a pack of Marlboro Black menthol cigarettes and all of the money in the cash register.

The cashier at first hesitated to turn over the money, police said. The man then pulled out the knife and the cashier complied with his demand, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then left the store.

Police said the man who was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black winter hat and black gloves. He left the store in a dark-colored Toyota RAV-4
