Fire in ceiling fan forces evacuation of South Strabane dental office
A fire in a ceiling fan in a restroom at a South Strabane Township dental office forced a brief evacuation of employees and patients early Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Chief Scott Reese said the fire started in the fan in the office of Katsur Dental, Northgate Plaza, 460 Washington Road, causing the plastic around it to melt and drip onto a toilet. Part of the toilet seat melted.
Reese said it occurred in a prep area of the office, and the fire created a lot of smoke. He said the office was evacuated as a precaution.
