CLARKSVILLE
Simple assault charge: Jason Allen Toland, 36, of 104 N. Factory St., Clarksville, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an altercation Saturday in which state police said they were called to his residence for a domestic dispute with an unnamed victim. The victim told police Toland pushed him and hit him four times in the face. The victim ran to a vehicle, at which point Toland tried to pull him out, slamming the door on his leg, police said.

Three-vehicle crash: A woman taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., following a crash Saturday remained in serious condition Tuesday. The three vehicles involved were traveling south on Interstate 79 near the Mt. Morris exit at 2:27 p.m., state police said. Judith F. Nicholas, 48, of Moon Township, and Michael Davis, 60, of Newport, Mich., were stopped in the traffic lane with several other vehicles due to construction across the state line in West Virginia. Jonathan D. Tichnell, 29, of Mt. Storm, W.Va., did not stop and hit Nicholas, causing her vehicle to spin and hit Davis, police said. Nicholas was trapped and unconscious inside her vehicle and needed to be extricated by Mt. Morris firefighters, police said. She was taken by ambulance to Ruby with serious injuries. The other two drivers in the crash were not injured.
