Slots revenue for fiscal year up statewide, down at Meadows

Slot machine play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos generated about $2.4 billion during the 2017-18 fiscal year, a $16 million increase from 2016-17.
The total gross revenue of $2,352,320,936 – according to figures released this week by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board – was up seven-tenths of a percentage point from $2,336,152,508 for the 2016-17 fiscal year, which goes from July 1 to June 30. Slots pay for the most recent year resulted in $1.19 billion in tax revenue.
Five casinos experienced declines in revenue in 2017-18, including The Meadows. The North Strabane Township facility generated $209,520,273, a 3.85 decrease from $217,910,016. That was the second-largest drop behind Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, which fell 4.29 percent from $30,170,007 to $28,875,296.
Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh experienced a 3.35 percent revenue increase in 2017-18, to $274,238,465 from $265,345,394.
The Gaming Control Board also posted slots revenue for June, which was up 4.9 percent statewide from June 2017 – $197,763,672 from $188,520,750. Ten casinos posted gains over the year, including The Meadows, whose figure increased 1.69 percent ($17,309,316 from $17,022,395). Rivers’ revenue was up 7.13 percent ($22,977,523 from $21,447,379).
Lady Luck’s revenue total nosedived 11.78 percent – to $2,339,080 from $2,651,365.
