CHARLEROI
Man charged: William Charles Downes, 57, of 371 Bow St., Stockdale, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with giving a statement under penalty and materially false statement on a purchase of a firearm, court records show. Police accuse Downes of lying on an application to purchase a gun Feb. 16 at Tom’s Sport Shop, 607 Fallowfield Ave. He is free on $25,000 bond set Wednesday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Drug charges: Jessica Marie Moore, 35, of 322 1/2 S. High St., Brownsville, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with possessing crack and drug paraphernalia after police said she was found slumped over in her vehicle about 8:30 p.m. June 22 in the 400 block of Washington Avenue. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Wednesday in a summons.
Assault alleged: Alec J. Pipik, 31, of 401 Meadow Ave., Charleroi, and Rebecca G. Pipik, 38, of 317 Lynne St., Roscoe, are charged by Charleroi Regional police with simple assault and harassment, court records show. They are charged in connection with an alleged assault of Thomas Shaffer about 1 p.m. May 11 in the 400 block of Crest Avenue. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Tuesday by summons.
ELLSWORTH
Vehicles entered: State police are investigating the reported theft early Friday of items from several vehicles parked on North Pine Street in Ellsworth. Among the items reported stolen were cash, loose change and a loaded firearm.
NORTH BELLE VERNON
Woman charged: Jessica Nicole Hall-Ribel, 39, of 435 Bluff St., Canonsburg, is charged by borough police with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property, court records show. Police accuse her of driving a van owned by Frank Roney Jr. that had been reported stolen to Washington police. Police confiscated the van about 9 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Henry Street. Hall-Ribel was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $5,000 bond.

Theft alleged: Nikki Lea Lash, 33, of 474 Cook St., Washington Township, Fayette County, is charged by Rostraver police with theft, court records show. She is accused of stealing jewelry valued at $1,000 from a customer while working at Candlewood Suites, Route 201, about 9:30 p.m. July 3 and then exchanging one of the items for $90 at a pawn shop. District Judge Charles Christner issued the case in a summons Wednesday.
Theft alleged: Tyler Alan Lash, 22, of 474 Cook St., Washington Township, Fayette County, is charged by Rostraver police with theft over accusations he stole $75 while working about 6:30 p.m. April 13 at Little Ceasars Pizza, 4975 Route 51, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charge by summons Wednesday.
SOMERSET
Charged in theft: Justin Matthew Franks, 30, of Connellsville, was arrested Thursday on a warrant obtained by state police charging him with theft, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He is accused of going to a mine owned by Murray Energy Corp., 860 Vanceville Road, Somerset, in December 2016 and stealing 300 feet of wire from machinery. The wire was reportedly valued at $4,000, and the damage was set at $1,000. Franks was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
SOUTH STRABANE
Tablet stolen: Megan Humes of Canonsburg told South Strabane police Wednesday her daughter’s tablet, which had been accidentally left in a shopping cart at Walmart, Trinity Point, had been stolen when they returned to retrieve it.
Fugitive arraigned: Sidney A. Florida, 50, of Washington, was taken into custody Tuesday by state police at a South Strabane shopping center on a fugitive warrant from Fulton County, Ind. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail, where he is being held without bond pending extradition to Indiana.

Money stolen: Ken Bonickle of Acheson Avenue told Washington police early Friday a money jar containing more than $400 was stolen from his apartment.
Window broken: Sean Vargo of Locust Avenue told Washington police Thursday a rock was thrown through a window at his home.
iPad, case stolen: An employee of Good Orthodontics, 111 Washington St., told Washington police Thursday an Apple iPad, case and charger were stolen from the office July 3. The employee told police a worker from a cleaning company is seen on surveillance allowing two men to enter the building. The two men were later seen leaving the building. The iPad was sold at a pawn shop. Police are continuing their investigation.
Tires slashed: Ross Goldberg told Washington police Thursday the tires on the driver’s side of his vehicle were slashed while the vehicle was parked in the 200 block of East Hallam Avenue.
Item stolen: Janet Knight told Washington police Thursday her iPad Nano was stolen from her office at 37 Highland Ave.
