A man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Monday after he was shot in Charleroi in what police believe was retaliation for a stabbing earlier that night.

Charleroi Regional police Chief Eric Porter said 24-year-old Domonic Carter-Sellers was flown to Allegheny General Hospital after he was shot a little before 9:30 p.m. during a chain of events that started with “some kind of argument” outside a building on the 500 block of Fallowfield Avenue.

Carter-Sellers was in stable condition at the hospital as of early Tuesday, Porter said. He added the victim of the stabbing, Brandon Bryant, 26, was also in stable condition after being taken to Mon Valley Hospital.

Porter said Bryant lives in the building where the shooting occurred and Carter-Sellers lives next door.

Porter said police think Bryant was stabbed during a fight on a patio or common area outside.

“So somebody comes back and there’s a shooting,” Porter said.

A Washington County 911 supervisor said dispatchers got a report of a man yelling he’d been shot at 9:27 p.m.

“(Carter-Sellers) ran down Fallowfield Avenue and kind of collapsed and somebody called 911” when they saw him, Porter said.

Porter said Bryant was driven to Mon Valley Hospital, where staff reported the stabbing to police around the same time police learned about the shooting.

He said police have identified a “person of interest” in the shooting and are still investigating the case. No charges have been filed so far in either incident.
