Statutory sex assault charge: A Beaver County teen is accused of being involved in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy earlier this year. State police Wednesday filed the arrest warrant against Daykoda Joann Vermeulen, 18, of Midland, on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault. Police said she allowed the 13-year-old boy to fondle her on several occasions while staying at his Dunkard Township home between March 10 and 28. Vermeulen is awaiting arraignment before District Judge Lee Watson.
RICES LANDING
Deceptive business practice charge: Marlin Jay Hackney, 29, of 690 Crucible Road, Cumberland Township, was charged Tuesday with deceptive business practices, theft by deception and theft by unlawful taking after Greene County detectives said he accepted $2,500 from a Rices Landing couple on Jan. 20 to install a metal roof on their garage, but never did the work.
