CARROLL
Man charged: Michael Alan Amati, 38, of 1288 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, is charged by township police with trespassing in a Giant Eagle parking lot at 1300 Country Club Road about 11:40 p.m. Monday after having been banned from the property over two retail theft cases, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charge in a summons Wednesday.
CHARLEROI
Threats alleged: James Stewart Hough, 32, of 1107 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by police in Charleroi and Monongahela with making terroristic threats, court records show. He is accused of calling Darla Hall at her workplace, a Charleroi restaurant, about 5:20 p.m. Monday and threatening to burn down her house in Monongahela and assault her daughter. He also faces a charge of harassment in the Monongahela case. The charges were sent to him this week by summons.
Man charged: Michael David Penn, 28, of 179 Arlington Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with carrying a firearm without a license and public drunkenness, court records show. Police were called to his residence about 11:50 p.m. Saturday because he allegedly was seen slumped over in his vehicle while holding a gun in his lap. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Monday in a summons.
MONESSEN
Man jailed: Timothy Terrell Fuller, 31, of 1220 Maple St., Monessen, is charged by city police with marijuana possession stemming from an incident at 5 p.m. Tuesday at his residence, court records show. Police sent Fuller to Westmoreland County jail on an unrelated warrant.
ROSTRAVER
Drug charges: Kevin Charles Carlock Sr., 50, of 2190 Smithdale Road, Elizabeth Township, is charged by state police with heroin possession and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop at 9:40 a.m. July 3 at Coal Hollow Road and Lantern Lane, court records show. Senior District Judge Herbert G. Mitchell Jr. issued the charges Thursday in a summons.
SMITH
Strangulation charge: Ernest J. Westerhoff Sr., 48, of 314 East Third Ave., Smith Township, was charged by Smith Township police with strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, harassment and three counts of disorderly conduct following an incident Wednesday morning at his residence. Police said Westerhoff allegedly had been cursing at his wife and throwing things when his stepson, a minor, tried to intervene. According to the criminal complaint, Westerhoff choked his stepson, held him to the ground and hit him over the head with a metal object. Police said the juvenile had bruising on his neck and injuries to his arms and head. Westerhoff was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by District Judge Gary Havelka and jailed on $20,000 bond.
