Rep. Tim O’Neal, R-North Strabane, takes the oath of office Tuesday in the state Capitol, with his wife, Julia, holding the Bible.
Surrounded by wife, Julia, and their two children, state Rep. Tim O’Neal, R-North Strabane Township, took the oath of office Tuesday to represent the 48th District.
“It is an honor to have been elected to serve the residents of the 48th Legislative District in Harrisburg,” O’Neal said. “I pledge to be their voice and make sure their concerns are heard.”
O’Neal won a special election held May 15 against Democrat Clark Mitchell to win the seat vacated by Brandon Neuman, who resigned to become a Washington County judge.
He will serve through the end of this year, and will again face off against Mitchell in November in a bid to win a full term in the seat.
A lifelong resident of Southwestern Pennsylvania, he served on active duty in Afghanistan with the National Guard, rising to the rank of captain. While in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” for valor.
After his military service, O’Neal earned a master’s degree in business administration from University of Pittsburgh. He currently works as a human resources director for a construction company.
O’Neal’s district office will be opening shortly to assist constituents with state-related concerns or problems. In the meantime, state information is available on O’Neal’s website, www.RepONeal.com, and his Facebook page at Facebook.com/RepTimONeal.
