Facing trial in Washington County Court, a Uniontown resident chose to plead guilty last week to rape of a mentally disabled woman and committing involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Dominike Francis Tedrow, 46, formerly of Marianna, faces 5 to 10 years in a state prison on the rape charge.

Judge Valarie Costanzo also placed him on probation for a decade after he completes the prison sentence, and recommended he be assessed for any mental health issues and treated.

Under the two felony offenses, he is to comply with the provisions of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

The judge also ordered him to complete counseling for sexual offenders and have no contact with the victim or the child he fathered.

Tedrow, who remains free on $35,000 bond, is to report to the county jail July 6 for transport by the sheriff’s department to State Correctional Institution-Greene for classification.

Police became involved in the case when they were called to the Washington Hospital emergency room Dec. 2, 2015, after a 23-year-old woman came in and was complaining of abdominal pain.

An examination by hospital staff showed she was nine weeks pregnant. Tedrow reportedly brought her to the hospital because of pain and vomiting.

The woman told police she did not want him to have sexual intercourse with her, but the acts occurred four times over a 12-month period.

A doctor evaluated the woman’s mental capacity and determined she did not understand the nature of sex acts and did not have the ability to make informed decisions about sexual activity.

The woman delivered a baby June 14, 2016. DNA samples reportedly showed Tedrow had a probability of paternity of 99.99 percent, according to police.
