Greene County Court cases
A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty June 12 before Greene County Court Judge Lou Dayich. They included:
Niko Anthony San Nicolas, 25, of 1167 W. Roy Furman Highway, Graysville; fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving under the influence of alcohol, accident involving damage to a vehicle, nine summary traffic violations; on March 26, San Nicolas led police on a high-speed chase, during which his vehicle struck another vehicle in Waynesburg; his blood-alcohol content level was .136 percent; sentence – 6 months and two days to 23 months in jail, $925 in fines, 60 hours of community service.
Matthew Gabriel Barth, 35, of 52 W. Greene St., Waynesburg; resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, false identification; charges of aggravated assault against a police officer and disarming a police officer were withdrawn; Barth fled police following a traffic stop March 10; wrestling with an officer on the ground, he took the officer’s Taser; sentence – 6 to 23 ½ months in jail, credit for time served from March 10, 75 hours of community service.
George Lindsay Sligar, 48, of 263 Fifth Ave., Waynesburg; DUI, second offense in 10 years; following a two-vehicle crash Jan. 1 in Waynesburg, Sligar had a BAC of .170 percent; sentence – 5 years county intermediate punishment with 30 days in jail and 90 days of house arrest, $1,500 fine, 60 hours of community service.
Jason C. Hopkins, 38, of 148 Pine St., Jefferson; deceptive business practices, theft; on Aug. 9, Hopkins received $4,200 from a Carmichaels homeowner to install a deck; he never did the work; sentence – 2 years of probation, restitution, 40 hours of community service.
Daniel Wayne Ealy Jr., 32, of 356 High St., Waynesburg; simple assault, harassment; on March 26, Ealy assaulted a woman at an apartment in Wayne Village; sentence – time served from April 27 to May 17 to 1 year, $200 fine, 50 hours of community service.
Dakota Skylar Palone, 18, of 1476 S. Eighty-Eight Road, Greensboro; possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; on Jan. 26, Palone was found in possession of eight containers of THC oil and Xanax pills; sentence – credit for time served, 13 days, to 2 years in jail, $300 fine, 30 hours of community service.
Darren Alexander Rose, 23, of 15 Biddle Acres, Carmichaels; DUI, controlled substance, second offense in 10 years, six traffic citations; arrested March 7, he was under the influence of marijuana; sentence – 5 years county intermediate punishment with 30 days in jail and 90 days of house arrest, $1,910 in fines, 100 hours community service.
Raymond Delawder,46, of 595 Penn Ave., Washington; DUI, third offense in 10 years; driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked; arrested Sept. 4, 2015, he refused a BAC test; sentence – 3 years county intermediate punishment with 90 days of house arrest, $2,200 in fines.
Heather R. Woodring, 42, of 424 Phillips Ridge Road, Spraggs, pleaded guilty May 24 before Dayich to disorderly conduct, a charge amended from a drug possession charge; arrested Oct. 19, she was in possession of heroin and needles; sentence – 90 days to 180 days in jail, credit for 90 days served. Woodring was ordered to remain in jail until completing a drug and alcohol evaluation and any required treatment.
Janet Sue Kramer, 43, of 112 Hatfield St., Jefferson, was found not guilty by a Greene County jury May 30 of DUI, incapable of safe driving. Kramer was arrested Jan. 14, 2016, after being involved in a crash in Jefferson. A charge of DUI based on her BAC was dismissed based of a Supreme Court ruling regarding consent for blood-alcohol tests.
