CUMBERLAND

Terroristic threats: Eric Daniel Morris, 23, of 124 Woodside Drive, Carmichaels, was charged Monday with making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment after Cumberland Township police said he threatened to kill his father and attack the Fort Jackson Building in Waynesburg with a gun on May 29.

Two-car crash: A driver suffered a minor injury when he collided with another car on Route 21 in Cumberland Township shortly before 5 a.m. Friday. State police said Ethan M. Kovach, 28, of Greensboro, was driving west on the highway near Route 21 Mobile Home Park when he crashed into the rear of a car driven by David W. Valencheck, 50, of Masontown. Kovach was not injured, but Valencheck was taken by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.

FRANKLIN

Rear-end collision: State police said Olivia A. Mason, 25, of Wheeling, W.Va., suffered a minor injury when she crashed into the rear of another car on Route 21 in Franklin Township shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, state police said. Police said Mason was traveling west when she struck the rear of a stopped car driven by Elizabeth A. Wolfe, 37, of Mt. Morris. Neither Wolfe nor her 15-year-old male passenger was injured.

Simple assault: Anthony R. Bertovich Jr., 31, of 1010 Oak Ridge Road, Waynesburg was charged by state police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly hitting a 9-year-old boy with a belt June 13 at Bertovich’s home. The boy told police Bertovich beat him in the buttocks about 15 times for taking money from Bertovich’s wallet. The beating, stopped by the boy’s mother who had just returned home, caused significant bruising to the boy’s buttocks and upper leg, state police said.

Inmate charged with assault: William James Walker Jr., 36, an inmate at Greene County jail in Franklin Township, was charged Monday with aggravated assault by prisoner and harassment after state police said he spit on a correctional officer April 14.

MONONGAHELA

Strangulation: Timothy Lee Black, 27, of 116 Parkview Knoll, Carmichaels, was charged with strangulation, simple assault, unlawful restraint and unauthorized use of a vehicle following a domestic dispute about 1 a.m. Saturday at 226 Dora Village Main St. State police said Black assaulted his girlfriend while holding her down on a bed, slapping her and choking her until she passed out. He also took the woman’s car when he left the residence. Arrested Sunday, Black was in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke meth, resulting in an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
