MONESSEN – A 26-year-old man whose address was unknown was shot and killed early Monday at a Monessen residence.

An autopsy determined Jamael Campbell died from a gunshot wound to the head about 2 a.m., the office of Westmoreland County Coroner Kenneth A. Bacha said.

The death at 1209 Summit Ave. was ruled a homicide, Bacha said.

Deputy Coroner Joshua C. Zappone pronounced Campbell dead at the scene.

Monessen police said Campbell was shot in the back of the head. He was found dead on a porch outside the two-story brick building.

Campbell was last known to live in Pittsburgh, as of December, police added.

The case remained under investigation Monday.
