BLAINE

Charged in crash: Walter Dwayne Morris, 42, of East Liverpool, Ohio, was charged Wednesday by state police in connection with a one-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Newman Road, Blaine, on Jan. 7. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than 1 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, failure to stay in his lane and other violations were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

BUFFALO

Driver charged: Jebediah Michael Kennedy, 33, of 145 Petroleum Ave., Claysville, was charged by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and trespass by motor vehicle. Police said he was found slumped over the wheel of his running vehicle in the entrance to the lot of Crile Consolidated Industries, 1086 Jolly School Road, Buffalo, early Saturday. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

CANONSBURG

Scam reported: A Canonsburg man told borough police Tuesday that he was victimized by a scam. He said he had been corresponding by telephone, text messages and Snapchat with “Mary” and believed they had become friends. She asked to deposit checks of $22,340.54 and $52,718.54 in his bank account. The checks from Renaissance Residential were made out to his business. He deposited the larger check and was to wire “Mary” a percentage of the money. The bank later halted the transaction as a fraud and did not process the second check, but the victim is out $1,500.

Apartment burglarized: India Perry of 603 S. Central Ave. told Canonsburg police Tuesday that she came home to find the glass front door of her apartment broken and the inside in disarray. Some of her possessions were damaged, and items belonging to an acquaintance were missing. She told police that she and the acquaintance previously had a disagreement before Perry kicked her out of the apartment.

CANTON

Warrants issued: District Judge David Mark issued arrest warrants for two men charged by state police in connection with the theft of a 42-inch television set. Edward M. Dubielak, 38, of 1520 Jefferson Ave., Canton, is charged with theft for allegedly stealing the television from his grandparents’ Canton home. Eric Tyler Mounts, 27, of 1490 Hillcrest St., Washington, is charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly paid $50 for the television.

CHARTIERS

Paraphernalia charge: Dylan Johnson, 31, of 126 Hart St., was charged last week by Chartiers police with possession of paraphernalia after 1,000 empty stamp bags reportedly were found in his home during an adult probation compliance check last March. Johnson, who has been in Washington County Jail on a bench warrant since Jan. 5, was arraigned Friday before District Judge David Mark, who set bond at $5,000.

DONEGAL

Unauthorized use: Stuart James Hershey, 45, of 924 Route 231, Claysville, was charged by state police with unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving without a license after he allegedly took a vehicle from a Donegal home without permission Feb. 1. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

ELLSWORTH

Two arrested: Tammy Sturchak, 42, and Lawrence Bumpass, 47, both of Ellsworth, were arrested Tuesday night by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment. The two reportedly got into an argument at 34 Ash St., Ellsworth, that turned physical. They were arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and released from Washington County Jail after posting $500 bonds.

FALLOWFIELD

Man charged: Matthew C. Puskarich, 33, of 37 Clearview Road, Somerset Township, is charged by state police with driving under the influence of heroin and cocaine, texting while driving, failure to stop and render aid and causing damage to attended vehicles, court records show. Police accuse Puskarich of driving a vehicle that struck a pickup truck and dump truck and then left the scene of the accidents about 12:05 a.m. Aug. 31 at Route 481 and Interstate 70. The case, filed Wednesday, will proceed through Washington County’s DUI court.

MONESSEN

Man jailed: Jashaun Dequan Taylor, 24, of 631 Reed Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop about 12:25 a.m. Wednesday at Seventh Street and Schoonmaker Avenue, court records show. Police said they seized a small amount of marijuana and 71 stamp bags of heroin from Taylor. He was placed in Westmoreland County Jail on $20,000 bond set by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

NORTH CHARLEROI

Fugitive arraigned: Theodore J. Carpenter, 51, of 702 Bentleyville Road, Bentleyville, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with aggravated assault, simple assault and strangulation, court records show. Police accuse him of striking Michael Lee Lambert in the head with a lamp, knocking him to the floor and then choking him about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in Lambert’s residence in the 500 block of East Liberty Avenue. Carpenter was placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bond after being arrested Wednesday on a warrant signed Feb. 14 by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

WASHINGTON

Two taken into custody: Kimberly Kover, 29, and Kelly Kover, 27, both of 695 Allison Ave., were taken into custody Tuesday by Washington police assisting a constable who was serving warrants on Kimberly Kover. Police said Kelly Kover was seen trying to hide a crack pipe under a mattress. Both were placed in Washington County Jail. Kelly Kover will be charged with possession of paraphernalia.

Cellphone stolen: Jammie Carr of Charleroi told Washington police Tuesday that her iPhone was stolen while she was in a parking lot in the 100 block of Jefferson Avenue. She said she was meeting a man to possibly sell him the phone when he grabbed it and ran. Charges are pending.

Medication, money stolen: Dana McKee of 300 Burton Ave. told Washington police that medication and $20 were stolen from her home. She said she found a window unlocked.
