Route 88 near Fredericktown reopens after train, tanker crash

The section of Route 88 near Fredericktown closed Tuesday after a train and tanker hauling hydrochloric acid reopened shortly before 11 p.m., according to a 911 supervisor.

Residents who were evacuated have been allowed to return home, he added. Crews are expected to return this morning to continue to remove contaminated soil in the area. Work also will continue to remove the wrecked tanker.
