BENTLEYVILLE
Drug charges: Jason Swoger, 45, of 291 Route 481, Fredericktown, was charged this week by Bentleyville police with possession with intent to deliver Suboxone and possession of paraphernalia stemming from an incident last August on Lane Avenue at Hill Street. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
COKEBURG
Burglary, theft charges: State police obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua D. Powell, 29, of 153 Washington St., Cokeburg, from District Judge Curtis Thompson. Powell is charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing two jars containing $500 in coins from a house in the 100 block of Washington Street, Cokeburg, in July 2015. He cashed the coins in at a CoinStar in Bentleyville, police said.
ELLS WORTH
Access device fraud alleged: State police obtained an arrest warrant from District Judge Curtis Thompson for Kristie Ann Falcon, 29, of 136 California Ave., Fayette City, on charges of access device fraud and identity theft. She is accused of using the card of a 71-year-old Ellsworth woman to make $1,594.31 in purchases in March and April 2017.
MONONGAHELA
Assault, drug arrest: Anthony J. Largen, 32, of 519 Finley St., Monongahela, was arrested Tuesday by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of a controlled substance. Police were called to his home after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend by pushing her into a coffee table and wall before knocking her to the floor. He also allegedly had Xanax that was not prescribed for him. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on a $7,500 percentage bond.
NEW EAGLE
Charged in crash: Richard L. Buckingham, 60, of 121 Third St., New Eagle, was charged this week by Monongahela police with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid and traffic violations stemming from a Feb. 25 crash at Chess and Sycamore streets, New Eagle. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
Theft charges: Charles V. Hammond, 69, of Clairton, was charged this week by Monongahela police with theft and theft by deception after he allegedly stole money in a quick-change scheme from the 7-Eleven, Main Street, New Eagle, Feb. 8. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
NORTH BETHLEHEM
Theft charge: Robert M. Jones, 77, of 33 Emery Road, Eighty Four, was charged this week by state police with theft after he allegedly stole mail from a mailbox outside a home on East National Pike, North Bethlehem, in February. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
NORTH CHARLEROI
Two arrested: Jamie Nicole Pauley, 38, of 726 ½ Conrad Ave., North Charleroi, and Devon Johnson-Brown, 28, of Duquesne, were arrested Tuesday night by Charleroi Regional police after a search warrant was served at Pauley’s home. Police used a battering ram to enter the home. Police said they found a gun that was determined to have been stolen. They also allegedly found cocaine, heroin and paraphernalia. Pauley was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson of charges of receiving stolen property and possession of heroin and paraphernalia and was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. Johnson-Brown was arraigned before Thompson on charges of receiving stolen property, person not to possess a firearm, possession of cocaine and paraphernalia. He was jailed on $10,000 bond.
PETERS
Assault, trespass arrest: Scott P. Hanlon, 22, of 200 Windemere Court, McMurray, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Peters police on charges of simple assault, criminal trespass and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from an incident at his home. He is accused of throwing punches at his father, who ordered him out of the house. Police said he also had suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. Hanlon was arraigned before District Judge Jesse Pettit and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
SOMERSET
Two charged: Chloe E. Jones, 22, of 533 Green Valley Road, Wind Ridge, and Tyler Gump, 26, of 354 W. High St., Waynesburg, were charged by state police with receiving stolen property and theft for allegedly stealing a television set and bedding from a room at the Carlton Motel, 594 Carlton Drive, Somerset, Feb. 21. Jones was arraigned on the charges Tuesday night before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $1,500 bond. There is a warrant for Gump’s arrest.
Threft, trespass charges: Justin Matthew Franks, 30, of Connellsville, was charged this week by state police with theft, criminal trespass and criminal mischief. He is accused of going onto Country Coal Mine property, 860 Vanceville Road, Somerset, in December 2016 and stealing 300 feet of copper valued at $4,000. He also is accused of doing $1,000 in damage to machinery. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Curtis Thompson.
WASHINGTON
Disorderly conduct: A 41-year-old Washington man will be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct after he allegedly was found with a large knife that had built-in brass knuckles while pacing back and forth in the 900 block of Summerlea Avenue Tuesday.
Package stolen: Amy Wadley of 711 N. Franklin St. told Washington police Tuesday packages containing bedding for a crib were stolen from her front porch.
Quick-change scam: The owner of Dragich’s Market, 16 S. Main St., told Washington police Tuesday he was conned out of $70 during a quick-change scam.
Business burglarized: Brad Stainbrook told Washington police Tuesday the building housing his automotive repair business was burglarized over the weekend. The front door had been forced open. Stolen were a laptop computer and two die-cast cars, a Ford Mustang and the General Lee.
Earbuds stolen: Brooke Alberta of 275 North Ave. told Washington police Tuesday a pair of earbuds were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked outside her apartment building.
