Donora man sentenced in federal cocaine sting
A Donora man was sentenced Tuesday to spend 60 months in federal prison for conspiring to possess and distribute cocaine through a large-scale drug trafficking organization that operated in Washington and Fayette counties.
U.S. Judge Cathy Bissoon imposed the sentence on George Daube, 61, who pleaded guilty a year ago. She also sentenced Daube to four years of supervised release and fined him $5,000, court records show.
Daube was among 46 people who were charged in the case, which also involved heroin distribution. He was intercepted in a wiretapping investigation purchasing five ounces of cocaine between August and November 2015 from William Chaffin Jr.
Chaffin, 50, of German Township, Fayette County, was sentenced in September to spend 15 years in federal prison for his role in the case, the U.S. attorney’s office in Pittsburgh said.
