Hearings on pipeline construction set
The state Department of Environmental Protection will have public hearings in April on permit applications – on water obstruction and encroachment, and earth disturbance – that Shell Pipeline Co. submitted for its Falcon Ethane Pipeline. The pipeline, as proposed, would run across Washington, Allegheny and Beaver counties.
A hearing is scheduled in one location in each of these counties. They will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with onsite registration beginning at 6.
The first hearing will be at Central Valley High School (Monaca) April 3, followed by one at Burgettstown Area Middle/High School April 4, and the third at Quaker Valley Middle School April 5.
Residents will be allowed three minutes to speak. They can pre-register by contacting Lauren Fraley of the DEP at lfraley@pa.gov or at 412-442-4203.
