Ohio man assaulted at Washington home
An Ohio man told Washington police he was assaulted by a man he knew at the home of a mutual acquaintance Sunday night.
Mark Boyd, 55, of Dillonvale, told police he and his 52-year-old alleged assailant were drinking at a home in the 10 block of West Spruce Street about 11 p.m.
The resident left the home, leaving Boyd alone with the other man. Boyd told police he has known his attacker for a long time.
The two men reportedly got into an argument over whether one owed the other money after the alleged sale of stolen scrap metal. The 52-year-old reportedly became angry and got a metal bat he used to hit Boyd on the left arm, legs and head.
Boyd was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of a head laceration.
The resident returned home to see the 52-year-old man leaving the area on his bicycle, carrying the metal bat.
Police plan to file charges against the alleged attacker.
