Washington’s gas prices still are among the region’s lowest
Western Pennsylvania gasoline prices dropped another 3.6 cents per gallon over the past week, AAA East Central has reported. The average price of self-service unleaded was $2.79 per gallon.
That is 27.4 cents higher than it was a year ago ($2.51.6).
The regional figure also is 3.0 cents higher than the current statewide average of $2.76, and well above the figure for most states. Pennsylvania’s figure is 26 cents higher than it was in March 2017.
Prices nationwide held steady at $2.53 per gallon, according to AAA.
Gas prices in Washington continued to drop and remain among the most affordable in Western Pennsylvania. Washington’s average price this week is $2.75, a 1.5-cent dip from a week ago. Washington and Altoona are tied for second-lowest among 22 Western Pennsylvania cities and towns listed by AAA this week.
Sharon ($2.73.5) has the lowest price of petrol listed. Uniontown – up 0.5 cents to $2.75.8 – is fifth.
Jeannette’s figure dropped three cents from last week to $2.84.7, but that Westmoreland County city still had the highest average on the area list.
